Dr. DePaula’s research focuses on the analysis of private sector mechanisms that promote agricultural development and environmental conservation. Specifically, Dr. DePaula investigate the role of farming contracts and social networks in technology adoption and risk management, the potential for private sector adaptation to climate change in agriculture, and the design of market instruments to balance agricultural expansion and forest conservation.
