Fateme Fotouhi is a co-major student studying a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering and a master’s degree in Computer Science at Iowa State University.
She also holds a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree both in Mechanical Engineering from Shiraz University where she focused on the field of control and dynamics. Currently, her research interests are on analyzing data, computer vision, machine learning and deep learning and their applications in cyber physical systems. She was involved in several projects during her PhD program such as developing an object detection model to classify different severities of a disease in soybean plant, extracting intent and slot filling from robot’s instructions based on attention-based models.
